Artist Statement
My work is most concerned with how human experience is mediated, by exploring the tensions between reality and representation. How do the technologies of reproduction/representation, affect the way we understand the world through our senses? I work with images and objects that alter, or make evident, different ways of seeing and hearing. These processes might include moving image, the use of optical and auditory devices, painting and drawing. Dealing with themes of alienation, melancholy, remoteness, disembodiment and longing, my work conjoins realities and fictions, to convey ambiguous environments, spaces and forms.
