Visual Artist Unit (VAU) is running an Indiegogo campaign throughout September in order to raise funds for setting up artist studio spaces in Glasgow and to cover planning costs for a range of pop-up exhibitions, workshops, talks and events across Scotland.
VAU is a newly formed artist-led not for profit Community Interest Company, supporting emerging artists based in Scotland, and improving access to contemporary art for the wider community.
The company aims to provide groups of artists with generously sized studio spaces at affordable prices, with support to develop their practice through self-direction, group crits and skill share.
Simultaneously VAU we will be inviting emerging artists from across the country to become members for opportunities to gain professional development experience through exhibiting their work and engaging with the wider community. Through VAU’s public engagement programme member artists will be invited to deliver talks and facilitate classes, workshops and skill share sessions in order to help make contemporary art more accessible for all.
Indiegogo is an online crowd-funding platform on which backers are offered a range of perks and rewards for all budgets in exchange for their generous support.
